Floral and Lace for Spring

I don’t think anyone can go through the whole spring season without styling a pretty lace piece. In this post, i decided to pair the must have lace trend with the number one trend of every spring season – Floral.

It was somewhat cold on the day i wore this outfit so i decided to keep warm in a fur jacket which i consider trendy. I selected this piece because i believe it is stylish and light enough for a spring look and definitely warm enough for a chilly day.

My skirt was a gift, courtesy of an Asian online boutique CNDirect. They have the lowest prices I think I have seen so far and the skirt is of high quality too. Sincerely, I wasn’t too sure while placing the order because I thought it was so cheap but I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The only problem I think a few people might have is with the shipping cost, there is no free shipping and it goes by weight. But if you do the calculation, the total price still gets to be much lesser than other places who might offer free shipping even for similar items.

How To Wear “All-Black” In Spring

Two simple ways to style an all black outfit without looking like a throwback to fall or winter is to show some skin – choose cut-out pieces, and add some studs to the clothing!
Spring is basically synonymous with colors, bright, floral etc but that doesn’t mean we can’t wear something outside of that theme. I am a die-hard fan(for lack of a better phrase) for all black outfits so it is an all year round look for me that defiles season. But I can’t go about looking like I was out of touch with the current times; I still have to stay on trend while being myself and living in my own style world. Thanks to this cut out (cold-shoulder), studded sweater, I get to achieve this.
It might be spring but it’s still a little chilly in NYC so I have to keep my jacket close.

Winter to Spring Transition

Nothing screams spring better than bright colors! And it’s another LinkPartyWithOsy, yaaaay! Join me at the end of the post.

It’s so painful to see that although it’s officially Spring, the cold has refused to go. Well, from what i have seen so far, it doesn’t stop a lot of people from enjoying the feel of spring. If you look at the pictures carefully, you can tell that I have been in spring mode for a while now. The “hello spring” pictures were taken over a month ago in the dead of winter and few days after a snow storm lol. A little sun came out and I decided it was warm enough for sandals and neon.

Seeing that one of the hottest trends this spring is off shoulders, i had to create my faux off shoulders from this dress (indirectly creating a third way to style the dress).

Another easy title for this post could be “One dress; two ways”.
Outfit details:

  • Green jacket and Sandals were thrifted from Salvation Army for a total price of $10 (yes to thrift life) and jacket previously styled as a dress here.
  • Dress c/o Newchic (here)
  • Black jacket – another S.A thrift piece from their coat sale 2 years ago. Brand is Guess and cost me $25
  • Red blazer – Burlington (Calvin Klein)
  • Boots – Shoe Dazzle

Beauty Talk

Sharing a quick review of some items I received courtesy of Influenster(more info below). The items include three lipsticks from the Amuse Bouche collection by Bite Beauty and one foundation from the Fit me collection by Maybelline. I really had to share this review because I am absolutely in love with all the items.

The lipsticks are pure lip dreams with how pigmented and moisturizing they are. Swiping the lipstick on is even an experience on its own because of how it slides on creamy and bold. It’s also great to know that the lipsticks are made with natural products, citrus flavor, and twelve edible oils. Even if you are a matte fanatic, you would absolutely love and appreciate this very different texture. Best of all this amazing goodness comes in 34 shades, you bet I am getting some of my favorite pink shades. they are available at Sephora (link here or below)

Showing beetroot in the opening picture and gazpacho(red) and pepper(nude or light blush) in the pictures above.
Now to the “fit” life with Maybelline, I was lucky to get my exact shade from Influenster. I got 340 and i thought it might be a little light from looking at the liquid and I was prepared to mix it with another shade and add that to my review but upon application, it turned out perfect so you can obviously see why I had to create a post for it lol. I also like that it is not too heavy yet has great coverage. If you are wondering if I applied powder over the foundation, yes I did. Interestingly, I found out my sister had recently bought the Fit me foundation and powder. While we are not the same shade in foundation(she is 355), we have always kind of had the same or very close match in the powders (240) so I was able to work with her powder.
If you have a facebook and an Instagram page and you have not signed up with Influenster, you need to get on it. Just like its name, it’s a platform that connects “influencers” with brands for product review and exposure purposes. Unlike most of the websites I am signed with which are exclusive to bloggers, Influenster is open to everyone. So go ahead and check it out.

Benefits: You get boxes with different items depending on what is being promoted. Items can be anything from toothpaste, to mascara, to sportswear, to giant size coffee makers. It’s unbelievable.

So how does it work?
Once you sign up, you have to connect your social media accounts(this is safe) and answer a few questions and survey for them to match you up and then you just say a prayer for a little good luck butter and wait for the emails.
I have been with them for over a year and gotten very amazing items(usually items that I would probably not have tried on my own and sometimes, something I already use). Unfortunately, I have been very lazy about posting the items I get but I am glad to say, that era is gone. I have made up  my mind to share what i get since this will also help my readers who deserve to know what I have been enjoying in secret lol. For more information, click on their link here.

Asos Jumpsuit

Happy Friday again my friends and loyal readers. And if you are visiting my blog for the first, welcome and thank you for stopping by. Today I am sharing a look that has already been featured on my blog after i wore this outfit to a birthday party but this time I am presenting it as a Valentine’s day inspired look.
The first (and probably only) color that comes to mind and outfit plan is “Red” and usually it’s the bright fiery red color so I decided to take about two steps from that shade and i think this Wine color falls around there. And to match the gold details on the belt, I decided to use gold accessories and a hint of blue.

Fur Layer

Thank God it’s another beautiful Friday and also time for another LinkPartyWithOsy (linkup below). Today i sharing how i choose to layer up with this fur vest i got from Forever21 through Brandzaffair(i gave detail about how to get the best online deals through their site here). This leather jacket was previously styled here but this time i decided to add to some edge to the look by adding a layer of fur over the jacket. Everything else is the regular tee on denim with pumps. I linked similar items below at good prices too. Photos by MrIgwe, also check out his men’s style blog.
